When I go back into the properties of the folder, it's halfway marked as Read Only again, and so are all of the sub folders and files.I can add other attributes Since Windows Server 2003’s default share permissions are Everyone-Read, any newly shared folder will only offer read-only access by default. I can not install applications!

The read only attribute is applied autmatically, even to new files and it's nothing I've tried (including Microsoft's registry fix) seems to work. So, if my folder was called TestDir the command would be "attrib -r +s C:\TestDir /S /D". It's probably a bug with the .NET Framework 1.1.
