IMO they are no stronger then their chuck sporting counter parts. Ive dropped it, Dragged it around in crawl spaces, Covered it in dust and insulation, gotten soot all over it, and yet the thing keeps going like nothing happened. I decided on 12V models rather than their 18V big brothers, because 12V delivers plenty of torque for woodworking and most DIY projects, and they are lighter and less expensive.

The ONLY drawback is price. They were the first to have brushless motors and lithium batteries. If you use an impact driver, please realize that your increased ability is bought at a very high cost - other peoples' peace of mind. I wish Bosch would come out with some more brushless 12v items,id be all over that.
